The Hang Seng Index opened 152 points higher at 26,046, and the gains extended to 241 points, reaching a high of 26,136. The gains then gradually narrowed, closing up 33 points or 0.12% at 25,928, marking its third consecutive day of gains, but again failing to close above the 26,000 mark. The Technology Index rose 6 points or 0.11% to 5,618. Main board turnover was HK$207 billion.
Both Hong Kong and US stocks have rebounded recently due to further easing of US-China relations and rising expectations of interest rate cuts. Hong Kong stocks are likely to continue their high-level consolidation in the short term, with the long-term positive outlook remaining unchanged. However, short-term volatility due to continuous gains and profit-taking by some investors should be monitored. Closely monitor whether the Hang Seng Index can return above the 50-DMA(26,276). If it can stabilize above this level, market sentiment may remain optimistic; conversely, if it continues to fall below, attention should be paid to the support level of the 100-DMA (25,693). Currently, the focus in US stocks has shifted from technology to traditional stocks. It is believed that fund managers are entering the final stages of the year-end, and investors should now hold onto profits and avoid excessive aggressiveness.
European stocks performed well, with the UK, French, and German stock markets rising by 0.85%, 0.88%, and 1.11% respectively.
According to money market data, there is approximately an 80% chance that the Federal Reserve will cut interest rates next month, with three more rate cuts expected by the end of next year. This news spurred US stocks to continue rising ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday. The Dow Jones Industrial Average opened 83 points higher on Wednesday and then extended its gains to a maximum of 458 points, reaching a high of 47,571; the S&P 500 rose as much as 0.97%, and the Nasdaq, dominated by technology stocks, rebounded as much as 1.11%.
At the close of trading in the US, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 314 points, or 0.65%, to 47,427; the S&P 500 jumped 46 points, or 0.69%, to 6,812; and the Nasdaq Composite gained 189 points, or 0.82%, to 23,214.

The US dollar index rose as much as 0.3% to 99.96 before retreating slightly; the euro rose 0.28% to $1.1604; the yen fell 0.44% to 156.74 against the dollar. The UK's latest budget announced significant tax increases, hoping to improve public finances, causing the pound to rise as much as 0.59% to $1.3243. Bitcoin initially fell before rising 3.7% to the $90,300 level.
