Hong Kong stocks rebounded after falling for three days in a row. The Hang Seng Index opened 34 points higher and then fell briefly. However, it found support at the 16,100-point level and closed at 16,374 points, up 173 points or 1.07%. The technology index closed at 3,730 points, up 63 points or 1.74%. The main board's total daily turnover was HK$86.6 billion.
At present, Hong Kong stocks lack good news to drive the market. Unless the mainland has policies that bring surprises, or the market has expectations for the mainland's economic growth, it will still be difficult to break the predicament. Technically, the 10-DMA (16,556) already has resistance, and the 20-DMA (17,126) has greater resistance. Investors lack the desire to enter the market to take advantage of the market, and expect the Hong Kong stock market to test lows again in the future.
European stock markets fell, with British, French and German stocks falling 0.03%, 0.11% and 0.02% respectively.
The Reserve Board begins a two-day interest rate meeting. The newly released US inflation in November resumed a monthly increase. However, when Treasury Secretary Yellen attended the event, she expected that inflation will gradually fall back to the 2% target level. She believes that the "last mile" to reach the target is won't be particularly difficult.
U.S. stocks fell first and then rose on Tuesday, with all three major indexes closing close to the day's highs.
